Chocolate Mug Cake

Delicious moist chocolate cake baked in less than 70 seconds? Count me in. Mug cakes are an easy & quick alternative when you want a sweet treat fast.
Makes 1 serving 



  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 75 ml (5 tbsp) whole milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread


  1. First, in a jug add the plain flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar & salt
  2. Pour in the milk and vegetable oil and whisk until all well combined
  3. Pour the mixture into microwave mug.
  4. Add 1 tbsp of chocolate hazelnut spread into the mug.
  5. Pop into the fridge and allow to chill until firm.
  6. Place the mug into the microwave with a paper towel on top.
  7. Microwave on high for 70 seconds.
  8. Enjoy!
